Aims of the project: Present efforts in the research of non-thermal plasma ozone generation are focused on the obtaining higher ozone concentrations and higher ozone generating efficiencies via involving new principles and ideas to the processes of ozone formation, optimization of electrical parameters of the discharge and better understanding of ozone formation and destruction plasma-chemistry. In this project the potential of these innovative approaches in particular to plasma combined with additional agents or processes (catalysts, photocatalysts, dielectric barriers, application of other fields, formation of local pressure gradients etc.) will be in focus. The purpose is to explore the synergy between non-thermal plasma, heterogeneous (photo)catalysts or other external agents and to translate the acquired insights into new concepts for the energy - efficient ozone generation. To solve the project the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of CTU will cooperate with the Institute of Plasma Physics v.v.i.
