Aims of the project: Design, construction and testing (basic opto-electric characteristics) of a new atmospheric plasma jet source based on surface DBD discharge driven by amplitude modulated AC(1-20 kHz) power supply. Optimization and testing of new plasma jets for deposition of thin-films of bio-compatible plasma polymers including their characterisation. Optimization and testing of new plasma jets for surface modification of biomedical materials (PE, PTFE and PS) including characterization of modified surfaces. Optimization and testing of new plasma jets for sterilization of contaminated surfaces (bacteria, proteins, amino-acids).
